The Mavros OCC XLR deploys identical signal and return cores comprising six bundles of 12 OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) copper strands surrounding a thicker copper core. Microporous PTFE tape covered by an extruded polyethylene layer is used as the supporting dielectric, with our high-efficiency ‘dd’ (dual-drain) screening. Twin symmetrical drain wires (each attached to 180° segments of the plug) are inserted between a 100% copper/Mylar™ foil and screen. connecting the screen effectively to the cable return/plug interface. This means the cable can be terminated without distorting, twisting or mechanically stressing the precision-laid screen. The benefits are in maintaining a consistent low impedance load to the plug, and a total 360° screening against noise and signal degradation caused by RFI (Radio Frequency Interference). Termination is with our cold-weld aluminium alloy 'dark Chrome' XLR connectors, here with silver-plated OCC copper pins. Standard or Luxe finish options are available.
